In a country generating over 1.5 lakh tonnes of municipal solid waste daily, trash is often treated as an unavoidable by-product of urbanisation. For us, every bin, every household, and every sanitation worker tells us a story – a story of transformation. As we scale across India and beyond, we remain guided by one belief that dignity, technology, and circularity together can redefine waste not as an end, but as a beginning.
Our journey began with a simple but powerful idea to make waste management smart, sustainable, and inclusive. We have created a digital waste ecosystem that integrates every stage from collection, transportation, recycling, and recovery. Using IoT-enabled tracking, RFID tagging, and AI-powered segregation cameras, we ensure real-time transparency, operational efficiency, and accountability. Its user charge collection dashboard digitises payments between citizens and local bodies, reinforcing financial sustainability and civic trust. Yet, technology by itself is only part of the picture. At the heart of WeVOIS’ model are the sanitation workers, often invisible contributors to city cleanliness. We equip them with digital literacy training, PPE kits, fair wages, EPFO/ESIC coverage, and health insurance, restoring dignity and ensuring safety. Over 2,500 workers have already benefited, making inclusion as central to the model as innovation.
Citizen participation serves as a fundamental cornerstone. Through continuous awareness campaigns, households, schools, and institutions are encouraged to segregate waste, compost at home, and participate in recycling programs. ScrapLoop, WeVOIS’ citizen-focused platform, allows users to sell or donate recyclables like paper, plastics, textiles, and books, fostering a culture of reuse and accountability.
We also build infrastructure that transforms waste into resources, from material recovery facilities and bio-CNG plants to textile recycling units. In Sikar, Rajasthan, our initiatives since 2018 have helped the city achieve top rankings under Swachh Bharat, turning decentralised waste management into a model for operational excellence. The vision is to make India a global leader in sustainable waste management by establishing 100 zero-waste cities by 2029. We believe innovation and inclusion can help in driving a new wave of climate resilience, green livelihoods, and responsible consumption.
