The relevance of climate change and health reporting depends largely on clearly identifying and understanding the target audience. When the intended audience includes younger generations such as Gen Z or busy working professionals, traditional print and long-format television content often struggle to hold attention due to changing media consumption habits. Bring climate and health stories out of the “niche” category, and use digital and short-form media, such as podcasts, LinkedIn Reels, and YouTube Shorts, as these are currently the most effective platforms for audience engagement. These formats allow journalists to deliver high-impact information in a concise and accessible manner, said Zeshin Osho, Director, IGSD India Program.
