Youth hold immense power to drive meaningful climate action, said Apoorva Mittal, an M.Sc Botany student at University of Rajasthan, Jaipur.
Speaking at the 2nd Yuva Sustainability Conference (Online) titled “Beyond COP30: Empowering Youth for Climate Action”, Apoorva emphasised that even small, collective actions—such as reducing waste, conserving water, and adopting renewable energy—can have a significant impact on environmental sustainability. “Every small step matters when we act together. Our ideas, voices, and actions today shape the world of tomorrow,” she said.
Apoorva stressed that young people should recognise the value of collective effort and grassroots initiatives. By combining individual responsibility with collaborative strategies, youth can create tangible climate solutions that influence communities, policy, and the broader sustainability agenda.
The conference was organised by Voices of Bharat: Yuva for Sustainability, a Sustainability Karma initiative, with Lok Samvad Sansthan as the implementation partner, in association with the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Jamia Millia Islamia.
