Dr Richa Yadav, Acting Dean, Faculty of Mass Communication, Haridev Joshi University of Journalism and Mass Communication, said that climate action was embedded in everyday choices and cautioned that practices such as owning multiple phones, unchecked consumerism, and indiscriminate use of pesticides had aggravated the climate crisis. She emphasised that youth could lead climate justice by changing personal habits, questioning excess, and taking focused, local action beyond global climate forums.
She was speaking at the 2nd Yuva Sustainability Conference on “Beyond COP30: Youth for Climate Action”, organised on 13 December 2025 under the Yuva Sustainability Internship Programme by Voices of Bharat: Yuva for Sustainability, a Sustainability Karma initiative, with Lok Samvad Sansthan as the implementation partner, in association with the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Jamia Millia Islamia.
